The NOW Group is a social enterprise that supports people with learning difficulties and autism in securing jobs with a future.
Boojum have been awarded this humbling accolade in recognition of our work with NOW Group participants, and as acknowledgment of our efforts in introducing the JAM Card initiative in all eighteen Boojum stores across Ireland.
JAM Card allows people with a learning difficulty, autism or communication barrier to tell others they need ‘Just A Minute’ (JAM) to make their requests discreetly and easily. All our staff are trained to recognise JAM Cards to identify when a customer may need additional support, and through working with the NOW Group, have the skills required to aid these customers communication in store.
Accepting the award at the NOW Group Graduation Ceremony at Belfast City Hall on behalf of Boojum, was Fiona Tanham, Human Resource Manager. Fiona added, "We're delighted to have been recognised for our work in creating an inclusive and rewarding work enviornment and customer experience. There are so many other great organisations working in partnership with the NOW Group, so to have been selected as Employer of the Year is such an achievement."
If you or someone you know could benefit fromt the support of the NOW Group or you are intersted in learning more about the JAM Card, more information can be found at www.nowgroup.org
