Boojum gives back!

This year we decided to pick dedicated charities so we can give back to our communities. Our fab staff nominated charities that are most important to them and we are incredibly proud to announce Pieta House in ROI and PIPS in NI as our charity partners for 2019. Both do amazing essential work and we will do our best to help support them this year.

Throughout the year, we do a lot more than just roll burritos all day, ery day, we continually give back. 2018 was filled with fundraising activity for a variety of charitable initiatives. In March last year, a number of staff from Boojum stores all across Ireland, north and south, participated in ‘Up the Liffey in a Bubble', a Water Zorbing challenge at Grand Canal Docks, Dublin to raise funds for One in Four, a charity which supports victims of sexual abuse. As well as this, we took part in Children in Need fundraising and got none other than Pudsey himself behind the till, dishing out burritos and high fives. During the Christmas period, some of the team from our amazing Limerick store participated in a sleep out in aid of homeless charity, Novas. All of the funds raised on the ground, were matched penny for penny by Boojum.

We also donated hundreds and hundreds of meals to worthy causes throughout the year and made a number of toy donations to Hospitals in Dublin and to the Belfast Area Domestic & Sexual Violence and Abuse Partnership.

Our planet is important to us and we know we need to be more eco-friendly with our packaging and reduce our use of single use plastic. We will continue our efforts into 2019 and are pleased to tell you our latest Limited Time Only promotion, Poco Pots is compostable packaging – pot and lid. Last year we also launched our Breakfast Burritos and Bowls with sustainable packaging.

We are incredibly proud of the work we do for worthy causes and are fully committed to taking every small step possible to make big changes. Watch this space. We’re hoping things will continue getting better.
